This seminar is a unique opportunity for judges and court personnel from the same court size to engage with one another, share common issues, and have an open dialogue about fines and fees in a guided setting. Participants will identify challenges and best practices pertaining to procedural issues pertaining to the imposition of fines and fees, including ability to pay, community service, and enforcement.

The seminar is part of the C3 initiative (Councils, Courts, and Cities). C3 is a public information and education campaign created by TMCEC that aims to help fill the information gap between city halls and municipal courts in Texas.

Participation in the Fines and Fees Forum counts for 8 hours of judicial education and clerk certification credit.

C3 Initiative (Councils, Courts, and Cities)

Public safety and quality of life are enhanced through the enforcement of traffic laws, local ordinances, and other state laws. The public increasingly depends on city officials and employees to understand key issues pertaining to these laws and their adjudication in court.

C3 (Councils, Courts, and Cities) is a public information and education campaign created by the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center that aims to help fill the information gap between city halls and municipal courts in Texas.

The purpose of C3 is to highlight issues and increase awareness and understanding of municipal courts in Texas for mayors, city council members, city attorneys, and other local officials.
